Black, GOLD and Green!!!

I know I'm a bit late, but I want to express how proud I am of my Jamaican athletes! It was a relief to see a positive news headline on the Jamaica Gleaner's website for a chance! For a few days I saw reports of sheer pride and glory, rather than turmoil and murder!

Our athletes did outstanding at the IAAF World Championships! Jamaica set the record for the number of medals attained at the Championships! As my friend's status update on Facebook adequately puts it, "Right yah now we have more gold then de federal reserve to rass" LoL!

We hae always had phenomenal Track and Field athletes! Merlene Ottey used to be our bronze prize! Now, we have the likes of Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell and Shelly-Ann Fraser.Winning these medals was no easy feat for them. They train RIGOROUSLY and TIRELESSLY in the HEAT! It's amazing how much raw talent can come out of one small country..."we likkle but we tallawah."

I've always said that the people are what make my country so spectacular! We have the ability to overcome and achieve, despite the daily struggles! Now, if only our politicians were as great as our athletes we would be on the fast track to economic growth and stability eh!
